First, Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian friends! I hope you eat lots of turkey. We had our Thanksgiving dinner last night at my uncle's house, and as usual, it was just ok. I don't mind though because everyone knows that the fun Thanksgiving is at our place for American Thanksgiving! *brushes off apron* lol

Anyway, I'm in the midst of guest chaos, but I wanted to post a quick picture of our unwanted snow storm we got on Friday. All I can say is that I am very thankful that it melted.

I don't think I have ever seen this before... *waves to [info]lauratnz*

If you have any idea where it went, please ask it to return for me. I have a plate of cookies...

As of right now, I am seriously considering moving to Mexico. It's snowing! It's October 9 and it's snowing! What kind of craziness is this? The leaves on the trees are still green! (Well the leaves that were on the trees are still green. A lot of them are on the ground now.)

You know that cold, miserable, wet few months we called summer? I'll have that back now please.

I would wave it and have:

1) all my laundry washed, hung/dried, folded, and put away
2) my house dusted
3) dinner cook itself...oh and muffins. I would like muffins baked as well.
4) 12 hours added to my day (preferably without making it actually any longer)
5) the weather changed. Apparently Mother Nature is still confused on the month.
6) arrived in some tropical destination for a much needed vacation

That is all. Carry on. *g*

I had an awful night's sleep last night but I still thought that by rewatch time, I'd be all ready to participate. Then I looked out a window. It's snowing! It's May 9, and it's snowing! The only thing I am going to do is crawl back into bed and hibernate until I have to take a shower. Maybe by then the snow will have stopped and melted and I can pretend that none of that happened. So I won't be there this morning, but hopefully I'll be able to play on Monday night.

I remember spring. Spring is what we had two days ago. At this point though, it's almost a distant memory.

As of yesterday morning it began snowing again. Not little, light, pretty snowflakes; that would have been bad enough, but wind blowing, blizzard like ice pellets and huge mountains of snow. We are smack dab in the middle of winter again! It's cold, and wet, and slippery, and snowy....two days ago we had basically said good-bye to all this. There was green grass in places and a lake in my back yard. Now the city looks like this!

This morning, I spent 30 minutes trying to chip ice about half an inch thick off all the windows of my car in almost knee deep snow. I was not very successful, and basically had to drive to school with just a small area I could see out of. Not that all that clearing mattered much, because with all the blowing snow, I really couldn't see anyway. It was one of the most miserable drives of my life. My only consolation was that no one else could see either. I really don't think that was a good thing.

What makes matters worse is that I am finally home, safe and warm, and I have to turn around and go back out in this because I work tonight. It's not like people are going to go out in this to go shopping, so basically I am risking life and limb to go out to do nothing all night when I should be at home sleeping!

It's raining, in February!

Normally I would be psyched about this because it is raining, which means that it is a)not snowing and b)not freezing; however, right now, I would prefer both of those options. It is miserable outside. It's wet everywhere and since it's February and the ground is still frozen, all the water has nowhere to go. This means that every single major street has turned into a lake.

Now, this wouldn't be too bad if it wasn't for the fact that every single side street, parking lot, drive way, and front step have turned into ice rinks! Anywhere there was a bit of ice or snow previously is now covered in a slick layer of ice. Not only do you slide all over the place while walking, you can't really stop or start in a car either! This does not a pleasant driving experience make (channeling Yoda here....wait is that right?).

To top it all off, hubby slipped and fell on our stairs while leaving the house this morning. His feet went right out from under him as he took a step down. He's ok, but pretty sore. I'm just happy that he didn't break anything. The whole incident caused him to be late for work and myself to be late for volunteering at the school. It's a good thing that everyone had to deal with the same weather.

Anyway, I'm off to figure out if I really need to buy food since I do not want to go back outside!

Oh and in other news.....we are basically finished redoing the kitchen, dining room, and hallway! We just have to put some of hubby's pictures in the frames that we have up already and we will be done! *does little dance*

Yup, it's snowing. In the 45 minutes it took me to get home from school today, it went from pouring rain (which I had to walk 10 minutes in and it was cold and windy too *grumbles*), to sleet, to snow. Hubby just got home and he said the roads were pure ice. Lovely, tomorrow morning will be lots of fun. I miss fall.

Sorry if I'm coming off a little cranky, but that pretty much describes me this week. Cranky. This is my last week of classes before I begin my praticum, so as you might imagine I have assignments coming out of my ears and a couple of exams and presentations just to add to the fun. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel though. I finished my big paper this morning. I printed it and handed it in. And out of my five assignments due tomorrow, I am completely finished four of them. That means that tonight I only have that one to work on(that's worth 50% of my mark, eep!) and a test in teaching reading to study for. As you can see, I'm hard at work. *g* My saving grace this week has been that at this time next week I'll be in my class, working with the kids.

Anyway, I mainly just wanted to whine about snow and stress, so thank you for hearing me out. Now, I am actually going to get to work. Really. *g*
