My Long Awaited Dexter Post

Well, it was only long awaited by me, since no one knew I was planning on posting, except rosie_spleen that is. Anyway.... lol

First, I want to say that it feels good to be talking about a tv show again. I have really missed doing my episode reviews of Prison Break, so it's nice to get back into the swing of things.

Ok, here we go! Oh, this will contain spoilers for all of S4 so far.

So Dexter....I am really enjoying this season, maybe even more than last season which is quite amazing. What I think I like most about it is the fact that once again we have another serial killer. Even though this time we are aware of who the killer is, it's nice to see that play or interaction between Dexter and him again. I have missed that.

I will say I am really enjoying Trinity and John Lithgow. When I first saw him on the show, I was a little unsure. I have never been a huge fan of his and have really only seen him in comedies. He is doing an excellent job though and I love the fact that Trinity kills the "same" people in threes. There is something there and yes, I know about the family thing. I wonder what about it made him kill like that though. It's interesting. I am also very curious about the whole coffin/obsessive tree/carpentry thing. Hubby thinks that it may mean he needs to kill again. I'm not so sure. I wonder if it has something to do with his sister. The fact that he leaves her ashes as opposed to either of his parents interests me. Why her?

I am also not as big of a fan of Rita as I used to be. I love the fact that she brings out this other side of Dexter, but I keep wanting to yell at her and tell her to leave him alone! lol

I was quite happy when Lundy returned. I really liked him and Deb and this season, Anton was boring me. I will say that I wasn't too sad when he died though. I'm not really sure why. Maybe it's because it deepens Deb's character. *shrugs* Or maybe it is just because he served his purpose. I don't know.

Harry is continuing to annoy me. I haven't been as big of a fan of his since S2 when we found out that he killed himself because he couldn't live with what Dexter had become. HE had made him that way. Now he seems to be trying to keep Dexter back. I know that he could be trying to keep him safe, but I think it is in Dexter's best interest to have his family and friends. I also don't really think Harry is Harry in the sense that his ghost is hanging around, talking to Dexter. I think it's Dexter's thoughts manifesting themselves as his father. Still though, I am not a fan of the thoughts! *g*

I'm not really sure how I feel about Quinn yet. I thought he was a superfluous character last season, but this season I had started to warm up to him a bit. Now that he is following Dexter though, I'm not sure how I feel. Hubby had mentioned that it was like the Doakes thing all over again, and I know rosie_spleen mentioned the same thing. If they go in that direction, I will not be happy. I liked the Doakes storyline when it happened, but I do not want to see it play out again. Although, I don't think it will. I'm wondering if Quinn is sort of like Dexter. Not the serial killing, but the whole 'taking the law into his whole hands' bit.

Dexter killing the innocent photographer....yeah, I thought he was innocent. I wonder how that will mess Dexter up since it is so far removed from the code. I'm thinking he will have a lot of problems with it.

So, there we go. *g*

Oh and one other quick thing. That Amaury quote? I don't think it means anything, but I would clearly watch if it did, even if it was just a one hour thing. *g* What? lol I would have stuck around for Prison Break Atlantis after all. If you have no idea what I am talking about, scribblecat posted about it here.

Now I am off to attempt to make cinnamon buns. Wish me luck!

New Header

During the summer I decided it was time to change my header. As much as I still loved (and love) my PB/Michael and Sara header, I figured it was time for a change. marap offered to make me one, and I finally took her up on her offer. *g* She took what I wanted and made it even better than I had expected.

So when I get bored (and can't do my school work because a certain someone is on the computer I need), I explore random places on the internet, and sometimes I come across interesting little tidbits of information. This would be one of those times. *g*

According to this (and TVGuide apparently), Went might be making another appearance as Nate Kendal later in the season! I know that I would be totally excited for this. I really liked him in the episode he is in and generally like Law and Order, unlike certain zombie movies that I will be forcing myself to watch. lol

I was in a bookstore today looking at some travel books for next summer and on my way out I saw a ad. Apparently Diana Gabaldon will be in the city (at a bookstore, not the one I was in, but the same chain), to do a book signing! I love the Outlander series, well what I have read of it anyway. *g* I'm not sure if I will get a chance to go, but I've never been to a book signing, and I think it would be a neat experience.

Our DVR has been acting funny and for some reason didn't record either the normal showing or the time shift one, so now I'm left without the episode. First, Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian friends! I hope you eat lots of turkey. We had our Thanksgiving dinner last night at my uncle's house, and as usual, it was just ok. I don't mind though because everyone knows that the fun Thanksgiving is at our place for American Thanksgiving! *brushes off apron* lol

Anyway, I'm in the midst of guest chaos, but I wanted to post a quick picture of our unwanted snow storm we got on Friday. All I can say is that I am very thankful that it melted.

Author's Note: This little drabble was written for jengal20, for the occasion of her birthday. I hope you enjoy it hon. *g* As usual, this story fits into The Gift of Time series, so it is AU after the "I am happy" and "I love you's" on the beach in the finale. That means that Michael did not die and the nosebleed never occurred.

“This would be a whole lot easier if we had found out, you know.”

Picking up a small, red onsie, Michael held it up, studying it carefully before tossing it into their shopping bag. “But where would the fun be in that?”

Reaching down and retrieving the tiny, red outfit, Sara grinned. “You know, I never thought you would be the one who wanted to be surprised.”

“Me either. But then again, if you had told me a year ago I would be browsing Baby Gap with you…let’s just say it’s a year of firsts.”

“You mean you don’t make a habit of robbing banks, breaking people out of jail, and bringing down government conspiracies?”

“You forgot getting full upper body tattoos.”

“What was I thinking?” Laughing Sara looked down. “Michael, look at this one.”

As of right now, I am seriously considering moving to Mexico. It's snowing! It's October 9 and it's snowing! What kind of craziness is this? The leaves on the trees are still green! (Well the leaves that were on the trees are still green. A lot of them are on the ground now.)

You know that cold, miserable, wet few months we called summer? I'll have that back now please.

On Friday, my cohort at school is having a pot luck and I said I would bring some baking. I've decided that I want to make cookies, but the thing is, I'm kind of bored with all my usual cookie recipes. The only one I feel like is peanut butter, but a girl in my cohort is allergic to peanuts, so I can't bring those. So dear flist, I ask for your assistance. Does anyone have any yummy cookie recipes they would like to share?

...which is somewhat like the 4th grade slump, but different since I don't think any of us are 9. *g*

No, what I'm talking about is the fact that there are days when I can click on my flist and the whole first page (or more), is taken up with icon posts (not that I don't like a good icon). To me this is sad. I miss all the activity around here. Now I know that without spoilers, and pictures, and episodes to talk about everything is a little less exciting, and I get that, but I still want to read rl posts, and play around with memes (really)! It's like with the end of PB came the end of the liveliness of LJ, and I really wish we could change that. I am far from blameless in all of this because I know that I have far too often not checked my flist, or have written the update posts where it's about 2 weeks compiled into a couple of long-winded paragraphs, or have not been as prompt as I would like to read fics or posts. I would love if we could somehow change this. Everyone is moving on from our show, but that doesn't mean I want to lose contact with people I would consider my friends. I don't really have any ideas of what we could do to change this, but I would like to.

So it's late, and I should be in bed, but while purusing the internet while waiting for an assignment to print, I came across this little tidbit here.

Apparently, he is scheduled to play a main role in the new Resident Evil movie, Afterlife.

I haven't had a chance to be as involved and up to date with this sort of thing as I would like, so I can't say if it's true or not, but if it is, I think I may need to watch a Resident Evil movie afterall. *g*
